Bethlehem observed the Christmas holiday under a theme titled "Christmas Under the Rubble," symbolizing the impact of the Israeli Occupation's aggression on Gaza.

In a departure from the traditional celebrations, candles shaped like explosives were illuminated, and a symbolic structure depicting a Christmas scene amid rubble stood amidst barbed wire.

This year, Bethlehem chose an unconventional celebration in solidarity with Gaza's residents, substituting the traditional Christmas tree with an installation titled "Christmas Under the Rubble."

Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Rula Maaya, conveyed a poignant message to the global community, underscoring Palestine's endurance and resilience amidst ongoing hardships.

Highlighting the essence of Christmas, Maaya stressed that the holiday transcends mere festivities, decorations, or illuminations. Rather, it urges individuals to internalize the Christmas spirit, foster peace within themselves, and strive for a peaceful future.
