1.7 million displaced in Gaza since Start of 'Israeli aggression:' UNRWA
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) revealed Monday that the number of displaced individuals in the Gaza Strip has reached approximately 1.7 million people since Oct. 7.
The agency noted in a statement that 670,000 displaced individuals are located in 97 facilities in central Gaza, Khan Yunis, Deir al-Balah and the Khan Yunis Training Center, with around 160,000 in 57 facilities in the northern Gaza Strip.
UNRWA data indicates a significant number of displaced children, 5,000 pregnant women, over 2,000 individuals with disabilities, as well as those with chronic diseases, cancer patients and newborns displaced due to the ongoing aggression by the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) in Gaza.
According to UNRWA, there is a need for approximately 800 trucks daily for two or three months to provide the required resources in Gaza.
Since the start of the aggression on the strip 45 days ago, the number of martyrs has risen to over 13,000, including more than 5,500 children and 3,500 women.
The number of wounded exceeds 30,000, with 75 percent of them being children and women, according to the Ministry of Health in Gaza.
