Estimates put damages to buildings, residential towers at USD 2 billion: Gaza Media Official
The initial estimated value of damages to buildings and residential towers in Gaza is USD 2 billion, according to Salama Marouf, the head of the government media office in Gaza.
Marouf stated Friday that the unprecedented destruction in Gaza has resulted in more than 50 percent of residential units being damaged due to Israeli Occupation bombardment.
He noted that 40,000 housing units were completely demolished as a result of continuous Israeli Occupation attacks on the Strip.
Marouf mentioned that the Israeli Occupation has dropped around 32,000 tons of explosives and more than 13,000 bombs on the Gaza Strip to date.
The Israeli Occupation assault and intensive bombing on the Strip entered their 35th day, amid the complete blockade and a shortage of basic life necessities, including fuel.
