Palestinian journalist Dina Al-Takrouri said that activist Ahed Tamimi, who was arrested by the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) a few days ago, is being held in the Damon prison.

Takrouri wrote on X, formerly Twitter, that Ahed Tamimi was beaten, according to her mother, and that her mother received a call from a lawyer who was visiting another Palestinian prisoner. The prisoner informed her lawyer about Tamimi's health status.

Tamimi was arrested Monday on charges of "incitement to terrorism" by the IOF.

The IOF arrested the former detainee from her home in the town of Nabi Saleh, northwest of Ramallah in the West Bank Monday morning.

Notably, Tamimi is a former detainee in Israeli Occupation prisons, and her arrest drew the attention of Arab and international media.

Several magazines classified her on the list of influential people in the world after a video clip circulated on social media showing her trying to confront IOF soldiers attempting to enter her house.

On March 21, 2017, an Israeli Occupation court sentenced Tamimi to eight months in prison, eight months suspended sentence, and a fine of about USD 1500 for slapping an IOF soldier, obstructing his work, and assaulting him.

On the same date, the court also sentenced her mother Nariman Tamimi, who was arrested the day after her daughter's arrest at an IOF checkpoint, to eight months in prison, five months suspended sentence, and a fine of about USD 2000.
