  • Local authorities stated that Palestinian security forces have deployed to monitor the area
  • Official estimates indicate over 3,300 residents were displaced or directly impacted by the security closures

'Israeli' forces withdrew from several neighborhoods across the southern West Bank city of Hebron on Monday, concluding an 11-day military operation characterized by heavy security cordons and localized blockades, as stated by WAFA news agency.

Hebron Governor Khaled Doudeen announced the pullout in a statement, noting that Palestinian security personnel have moved in to oversee local stability and monitor conditions on the ground.

Doudeen stated that families displaced during the security operation are now able to return, adding that administrative teams are coordinating field assessments to ensure a safe transition for returning residents.

Civil Defense authorities called on returning families to exercise strict caution, issuing technical guidelines advising the public against handling unfamiliar debris or entering structurally compromised buildings before specialized ordnance disposal teams complete thorough safety checks.

Residents were also urged to keep emergency transit routes clear for technical and medical responders.

The 11-day operation displaced or severely affected more than 3,300 people, with structural impacts concentrated in the Al-Jalda and Ein Deir Bahha neighborhoods, according to figures released by the Hebron Municipality.

The municipality documented the total destruction of 15 buildings and facilities, alongside the mandatory closure of 327 commercial shops.

Municipal assessments place daily direct economic losses above 12 million shekels (approximately $3.8 million), with municipal infrastructure damage estimated to exceed 6 million shekels ($1.9 million) and environmental and public health losses reaching roughly 500,000 shekels ($160,000).

The sustained closures and military activity also forced the suspension of academic classes throughout the city, preventing an estimated 80,000 students from attending school over the course of the operation.
