Evacuation of foreigners, dual nationals halted through Rafah Border Crossing: AFP

The French news agency AFP quoted an informed source from the Crossings Authority in Gaza stating that Hamas suspended the evacuation of foreigners and dual nationals from the Gaza Strip to Egypt through the Rafah Border Crossing, due to Tel Aviv's refusal to transfer injured Palestinians to Egyptian hospitals.

It said that no foreign passport holders from the Gaza Strip will be allowed to travel until the necessary measures are taken to evacuated wounded individuals from hospitals in Gaza to Egypt.

The agency also quoted an Egyptian security source confirming that no injured person or foreign passport holder had arrived at the Rafah Crossing Saturday.

Movement was halted after ambulances carrying the injured to the crossing were shelled.

It also noted that Tel Aviv refused to allow a number of the injured to leave for Egypt whose names were sent to the Egyptian authorities.
