  • The 'Israeli' army canceled travel for Gaza patients through Rafah crossing today, leaving hundreds of sick and wounded stranded despite prior preparations.

The Israeli Occupation Forces canceled the coordination for patients traveling from the Gaza Strip through the Rafah land crossing on Wednesday, just two days after it was reopened.

A spokesperson for the Palestinian Red Crescent said, “We were informed that patient and wounded travel coordination through Rafah has been canceled today.”

The cancellation came despite preparations for a new batch of patients to depart the Strip. Some of those stranded returned to Gaza late Tuesday night.

The Gaza Health Ministry has emphasized that thousands of patients and wounded people are still waiting to leave through the crossing, while 'Israeli' authorities continue to tighten procedures, imposing a daily cap of no more than 150 patients allowed to cross.

'Israeli' authorities reopened the Rafah crossing last Sunday on a trial basis. It began operating on Monday amid strict security measures, humiliating inspections, interrogations of returning travelers, and confiscation of personal belongings, following months of closure.
