Hanandeh highlights strides in digital services, calls for streamlining access
Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, Ahmed Al-Hanandeh, stated that the ministry has achieved a qualitative leap in the nature and type of services provided to citizens.
He said this was the result of efforts from the ministries and their commitment to improving and delivering services in a better manner.
During a meeting organized by the ministry Thursday with IT directors from various ministries and institutions regarding the digital transformation approach, Hanandeh emphasized that the requirements of the next stage are greater and expectations are higher, as citizens have become more tech-savvy and their digital ambitions surpass traditional ones.
This necessitates continuous activation and updating of platforms, service enhancement and simplification of procedures.
He pointed out the key challenges faced by citizens when accessing services, including "the centralization of services versus decentralized service platforms," meaning that each platform operates independently, and each institution develops its platform on its own.
This leads citizens to navigate through different platforms with their own nature and requirements, requiring multiple login credentials.
Hanandeh emphasized the need to address these challenges through assistance and collaboration between the ministry, various ministries and institutions, to spare citizens the difficulties they face when dealing with institutions, despite the simplicity and ease of technology today, and the interconnection and integration of services between institutions.
He also noted that many traditional services are completed faster than digital services, posing a greater challenge that must be addressed through streamlining digital procedures, providing digital services in less time and improving processes.
