Security forces have been deployed in various parts of Amman, Jordan's capital, in anticipation of solidarity vigils organized by Jordanians to express support for Palestine and Gaza on Friday.

The city of Amman experienced increased security measures, particularly in the following areas:

  • Roads leading to the American Embassy in Abdoun
  • The vicinity of the Tel Aviv Embassy building in Rabieh

Beginning Thursday evening, security forces initiated deployments along routes leading to the Jordan Valley areas, as announced by the Public Security Directorate. Additionally, cement barriers have been placed on roads from Salt and nearby regions heading to the Jordan Valley areas. Side roads from the Subaihi (Al-Arda) area towards Deir Alla and the Jordan Valley have been closed.

The Directorate has called on all participants to adhere to designated gathering locations and cooperate with law enforcement personnel on the ground. They stressed their commitment to safeguarding citizens' rights and enabling peaceful expression of opinions within the framework of the law.

The Public Security Directorate emphasized the implementation of security plans to ensure compliance with orders and instructions, particularly regarding the location of gatherings. It also discouraged any gatherings in border areas or locations that might disrupt daily life or pose risks to citizens.

People interested in joining these vigils have been urged to express their opinions within the legal framework, adhere to specified gathering sites, and avoid any attempts to bypass these locations in order to maintain public safety and peace.
