Mo Salah quietly donates to Gaza

Liverpool's Egyptian football sensation, Mohamed Salah, has quietly made a "significant" contribution to assist the people of Gaza, a gesture that has earned him appreciation from the Egyptian Red Crescent.

The specific amount of Salah's donation has not been disclosed, but it has garnered significant attention, especially in light of his prior silence on the crisis, which had attracted criticism in his home country.

Dr. Rami Al-Nazir, the executive director of the Egyptian Red Crescent, confirmed the donation and emphasized its purpose in aiding those affected by the recent Israeli Occupation airstrikes in Gaza.

He explained that they received the donation on a Sunday through Salah's agent, Ramy Abbas, with the intention of addressing the essential needs of the people in Gaza, including medical and nutritional assistance, based on assessments and requests made by the Palestinian Red Crescent.

The decision to keep the donation amount confidential was made in accordance with Salah's own wishes. The contribution was facilitated through a trusted intermediary connected to the player.

The Egyptian Red Crescent expressed its deep gratitude to Mohamed Salah in a Facebook post, thanking him "from the heart" for his support to the people of Gaza.

Gaza continues to face ongoing airstrikes in various regions, while Egypt is actively involved in mitigating the consequences of these attacks and providing humanitarian aid.

As for Mohamed Salah's current commitments, he is presently with the Egyptian national team in the UAE for a friendly match against Algeria. This follows his participation in Egypt's friendly victory over Zambia.
