The Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) announced the availability of the seasonal influenza vaccine in the local market for some time under various brand names and from multiple authorized agents.

The General Director of the JFDA, Nizar Muhaidat, stated Tuesday that the institution prioritizes the registration and approval of annual updates to the composition of such vaccines to ensure their effectiveness against seasonal influenza virus strains.

He emphasized that the pricing of the seasonal influenza vaccine is determined according to the pricing principles established by the institution for approved medications.

Its trading is subject to periodic monitoring and follow-up by the institution's supervisory and inspection teams.

Muhaidat further stressed that the institution routinely monitors the available pharmaceutical inventory data and takes precautionary measures if there is any shortage of a particular drug.

This ensures the maintenance of pharmaceutical security and the continued supply of medications in quantities that meet the needs of the local market without any shortfall, he explained.
