The Jordanian Customs Department has commenced operations under the modified instructions for the Customs Control System on exempted imported goods for the year 2023.

These instructions, issued based on the Customs Control System for Exempted Imported Goods No. 80 of 2023, aim to streamline procedures and enhance the investment environment for the industrial sector, according to a statement released by the department.

The Director General of the Customs Department, Jalal Al-Qudah, highlighted that five years must have elapsed since the importation of the goods for the purpose of settling fixed asset constraints.

Additionally, the goods must have been in operation or in actual production for a minimum of three years.

Once these fees are paid, the materials are exempted from investor constraints and customs department oversight, with vehicles and transportation means remaining excluded from this decision.

One of the prominent amendments introduced in these modifications is the cessation of previously imposed customs duties.

This enables the concerned party to carry out procedures at any customs center of their choosing, without specifying a cap on the declared value for these goods.

Qudah stated that these amendments are in line with His Majesty's Royal Visions, aiming to enhance the investment environment and support the national economy.

He affirmed that the department is diligently working towards providing efficient customs services to the private sector, reducing effort, time, and costs for investors, industrialists, and all service users.
