The Ministry of Health in Jordan announced plans to begin a vaccination campaign against measles and rubella for children at the beginning of October, even without parental consent.

This decision comes as part of an effort to bolster children's immunity against these diseases.

Responding to a parliamentary inquiry by MP Adnan Mashuqa, the Ministry clarified that the vaccines to be used are sourced from India and will be provided by the World Health Organization.

These vaccines have been distributed in 73 countries, and Jordan previously employed them in a vaccination campaign in 2013, inoculating four million people.

While the Child Rights Law typically mandates guardian consent for vaccinations, the National Committee for Epidemiology and the National Advisory Technical Committee for Vaccination have recommended implementing this vaccination campaign without parental approval, citing public health priorities.
