King warns of new wave of refugees due to tensions in Southern Syria
King Abdullah II issued a warning about the possibility of a new wave of refugees stemming from tensions in southern Syria.
During a dialogue held in New York at the Middle East Global Summit, King Abdullah highlighted the diminishing international interest and support for refugees, cautioning that the refugee issue may become a serious concern due to instability in southern Syria.
He also addressed the Palestinian-Israeli Occupation conflict, Jordan's peace efforts, regional integration, and the challenges posed by the refugee crisis and developments in Syria.
King Abdullah emphasized Jordan's commitment to providing a decent life for refugees, stressing that Syrian refugees' future lies in their home country, not in host nations, and called for the international community to take action to prevent a lost generation.
He also vowed to protect Jordan from any future threats resulting from the Syrian crisis that could impact national security.
