Attorney Maryam Al Momen, sister of the fashion influencer Fatima Al Momen, who now faces charges related to causing the deaths of two young men by running a red light in Kuwait, clarified that Fatima was not using drugs. She emphasized that the criminal act was categorized as a misdemeanor.

In the first statement from the influencer's family, Maryam asserted that the case had no connection to drug possession or usage. She pointed out that Fatima's blood test came back negative for drugs.

Maryam also stated that she never alleged that the victims had harassed Fatima.

The Kuwaiti authorities had detained Fatima Al Momen for an initial 10-day period, with an extension for another 10 days.

Previously, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior listed ten charges against her, including manslaughter, accidental injury, driving under the influence of alcohol or narcotics, speeding, running a red light, reckless driving, driving without valid insurance, operating a vehicle without a license, and causing damage to both private and public property.
