“Israeli” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said today that the ongoing battle in the southern city of Rafah is “critical” in the current aggression against the Gaza Strip.

"The battle in Rafah is critical... it is a fight that decides many things in this campaign," Netanyahu declared.

Speaking to reporters in southern “Israel” near the border with Gaza, Netanyahu addressed the recent tensions between him and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, which resurfaced after the latter criticized the lack of a concrete plan for post-war Gaza administration.

Netanyahu said he will have a face-to-face meeting with Gallant soon.

When asked by reporters if he still trusts Gallant and whether the two can work together, Netanyahu said: “If you’re talking about what the defense minister said yesterday, then what I have to say to him I’ll first say one-on-one, and not here.”

After both the “Israeli” Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi and the Shin Bet Director Ronen Bar admitted their responsibility for what happened on Oct. 7, 2023; Netanyahu said that he refuses to state that he was responsible for it.

“The government is responsible for protecting Israel’s security. The IDF and the security branches are responsible for protecting Israel’s security,” he replies. “Clearly, there was a failure here. As for assigning responsibility, the degree of responsibility, all those things, everybody, me included, will have to give answers to tough questions.”
