Jordanian security agencies thwarted an attempt to smuggle weapons into the Kingdom sent by militias “supported by one country to a [terror] cell in Jordan” – a source privy to the matter told Jordan News Agency (Petra).

The weapons were seized upon the arrest of members of the cell, who are Jordanians, in late March, noting that investigations and operations are still ongoing to uncover more about this operation – the source said,

They added, that in recent months, security agencies have thwarted several attempts to smuggle weapons, including Claymore mines, C4 explosives, Semtex, Kalashnikov rifles, and 107mm Katyusha rockets.
