A 13-year-old named Zara achieved an astonishing feat by hatching two chicks from a box of quail eggs purchased at a Sainsbury's supermarket.

Zara meticulously incubated the eggs for three weeks in her pet tortoise's tank, rotating them four times daily, according to BBC.

Pebbles and Speckles, the tiny quail chicks, hatched on consecutive days. Zara, who is passionate about animals, had longed for more pets to join their household, which already included a dog, three cats, two red-footed tortoises, and a mantis.

While shopping at Sainsbury's, Zara spotted a £4 box of Clarence Court "Free to Fly" quail eggs, known for their hatching potential. She closely monitored their development and ensured they were turned correctly.

Zara's mother, Claire Sutcliffe, was amazed by the outcome but noted that Speckles fell ill, casting a shadow over their joy.

Quail eggs, smaller than chicken eggs, are considered a delicacy worldwide due to their unique size and brown speckled shells.
