The return of UAE astronaut Sultan al-Neyadi from his groundbreaking six-month space mission has faced a delay due to bad weather conditions at the designated splashdown site, as confirmed by NASA.

Originally scheduled to depart from the International Space Station at 5:05 pm UAE time on Saturday, al-Neyadi's departure has been rescheduled to 3:05 pm UAE time on Sunday. The splashdown off the coast of Florida is now expected to take place at approximately 8:07 am UAE time on Monday.

Live coverage of al-Neyadi's return, aboard a SpaceX Dragon capsule, will capture the moment when the UAE astronaut, who achieved historic recognition as the first Arab to conduct a spacewalk, bids his farewell to space.

Al-Neyadi will be accompanied on his return journey to Earth by his fellow crew members, NASA astronauts Stephen Bowen and Woody Hoburg, and Russian cosmonaut Andrey Fedyaev.

On a recent occasion, al-Neyadi shared a video showcasing one of his final views of Earth from space, expressing that this mesmerizing sight will remain etched in his memory.

During his mission, al-Neyadi achieved the record for the longest-ever Arab space mission on the ISS. He also collaborated with Saudi astronauts Ali al-Qarni and Rayyanah Barnawi, the first Arab woman to venture into space, for eight days in May.
