Sponge factory fire causes building collapse, no injuries reported
The Public Security Directorate announced that sections of a sponge factory collapsed as a result of a fire. The building has been isolated, and thankfully, no injuries have been reported.
Authorities are cautioning against approaching the building as its removal is being evaluated by the relevant committees. The collapse primarily affected two facades of the factory building due to the long-lasting fire. The Public Security Directorate successfully evacuated the premises and secured the surrounding area to ensure safety. The remaining parts of the building have sustained significant damage and cracks, raising concerns about potential further collapse. The competent Public Safety Committee is currently assessing the situation and determining the appropriate course of action.
To prioritize safety, the Public Security Directorate advises everyone to avoid approaching the building and its vicinity.
