Jordan announces Eid al-Adha date

Jordan announced that tomorrow, Monday will be its first day for the Hijri year 1447, with Eid al-Adha falling on 10th of Dhu al-Hijjah, corresponding to Wednesday, May 27 on the Gregorian calendar. .

Dhu al-Hijjah is the twelfth and final month of the Islamic lunar calendar. It carries major religious importance, including the annual Hajj pilgrimage in Mecca and the celebration of Eid al-Adha.

Jordan has declared official public holidays from May 25 until May 30, for both Independence Day and Eid al-Adha, according to circulars issued in late April by Prime Minister Jafar Hassan.
