Ayman Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, emphasized Jordan's commitment to combatting drug smuggling from the Syrian border into Jordanian territory.

Speaking during a virtual ministerial meeting of the Global Coalition to Address Synthetic Drug Threats on Friday, Safadi highlighted the significance of forming the coalition to address the growing threat of synthetic drugs and counter their dangerous spread.

Safadi further noted that attempts to smuggle drugs from the Syrian border persistently occur, with more than 65 million Captagon pills seized in the past two years alone. He noted that the global danger of synthetic drugs and the enormous resources available to its manufacturers and smugglers require a joint international effort to combat this issue.

Emphasizing Jordan's willingness to cooperate in confronting the drug threat, Safadi emphasized the indispensable need for international cooperation to resolve this pressing issue.
