Safadi highlights Jordan’s role in implementing Trump’s plan and supporting humanitarian efforts
Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, represented the Kingdom at the Peace Council meeting chaired by US President Donald Trump, attended by 48 countries.
On the sidelines, Safadi conveyed King Abdullah II’s greetings to President Trump and praised US efforts to stabilize Gaza.
Safadi also met with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio to discuss bilateral issues, emphasizing the shared commitment to strengthening Jordan-US partnership and addressing regional developments.
Emphasizing the importance of the Peace Council, Safadi reaffirmed Jordan’s support for the full implementation of President Trump’s plan for Gaza. He also held meetings with heads of delegations and foreign ministers attending the session.
Jordan plans to contribute to the plan by training Palestinian police personnel within Jordan, enhancing field hospital operations in Gaza, continuing to treat patients from Gaza in Jordanian facilities, and providing humanitarian aid alongside international partners.
Safadi had also participated yesterday in New York in the UN Security Council’s monthly briefing on Middle East developments, including the Palestinian issue.
