The Ministry of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs and Holy Sites has warned citizens of fake advertisements and links claiming that the ministry provides financial aid in support of families in need. 

Some of these fraudulent ads claim to help those who cannot afford to buy a sheep during Eid Al-Adha.

The ministry's spokesperson Ali al-Daqamseh said fake news has been circulating on social media claiming that the ministry issued a decision to disburse a certain amount of money to each underprivileged family to enable them to buy a sheep.

He said that this ad 'has nothing to do with the ministry.'

Daqamseh called on citizens not to believe or share these fake claims, stressing that the ministry will take legal action against those who share incorrect news or information under its name.
