An Egyptian soldier lost his life on Saturday after a confrontation with Israeli Occupation Forces after he crossed the Egyptian border, according to Roya's reporter.
This came after the Israeli Occupation army initially reported the deaths of three soldiers and injuries to others near the Egyptian border on the same day. Later, they confirmed the death of the Egyptian soldier.
Hebrew Channel 12 had reported Saturday an "unusual" security incident at the border between Egypt and the Israeli Occupation.
The incident took place near the Nitzana Border Crossing and is currently being investigated by the Israeli Occupation authorities, who stated that they were shot while preventing a smuggling attempt at the border with Egypt.
Hebrew media outlets have also claimed that a Palestinian individual fired towards a military tower of the Israeli Occupation army from within the occupied territories, near the location of the security incident that occurred on Saturday morning at the Egyptian border.
Additionally, Roya's reporter confirmed that the Israeli Occupation air forces had previously carried out airstrikes in Sinai.
The Nitzana crossing, established in 1982 following a settlement treaty between the Israeli Occupation and Egypt, serves as a commercial passage between Egypt and the occupied territories in the southern region. Originally intended for both passengers and vehicles, the crossing's operations were later limited to the transportation of cargo and goods due to low passenger activity. The Israeli Occupation currently maintains military control over the crossing.
