Jordanian student fatally shot in US

A Jordanian student, identified as Mohammed Al-Kilani, was fatally shot in the US two months before graduating from university.

Kilani's father Hani told Roya that the young man, who was in his twenties, was preparing a surprise for his mother and sister ahead of his graduation and return to Jordan.

Kilani was on his way home from university when another car started harassing them by driving too close and blocking their way, his father said.

Kilani decided to stop and talk to the other driver but shortly after the conversation started, the perpetrator took out a weapon and fatally shot Kilani, he explained.

The official spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Sinan Majali said the Jordanian embassy in the US is following up on investigations led by the US authorities, noting that the details will be shared with the media as they come out.
