Palestinian Khader Adnan died after nearly three months on a hunger strike while in an Israeli Occupation prison.

He started his hunger strike after he was arrested by the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) on Feb. 5, 2023, near Jenin, Palestine.

Adnan had gone on hunger strike several times after previous arrests. In 2015, he went on a 55-day strike to protest his arrest under so-called administrative detention.

He was born in the town of Arraba, southwest of Jenin, in the northern West Bank, on March 24, 1978, according to media outlets.

Adnan began his political life as a member of the "Islamic Jihad Movement," during his undergraduate studies at Birzeit University.

The Israeli Occupation authorities arrested him for the first time while he was in university, and he spent four months in administrative detention, then he was arrested again for a year.

He was arrested nearly 13 times and spent a total of 8 years in Israeli Occupation prisons.

On Dec. 17, 2011, he went on the longest individual hunger strike in Israeli Occupation prisons in protest of his administrative detention, which lasted for 65 days and then ended with the fulfillment of his release demand on April 17, 2012.
