Several Arab countries to sight Eid al-Fitr 2023 moon Thursday

A number of Arab countries will investigate the moon of Shawwal, Eid al-Fitr, on Thursday, April 20.

The countries are Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Palestine, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, the UAE, Egypt, and Bahrain.

The General Iftaa Department announced earlier that it will investigate the new moon of Shawwal, Eid al-Fitr, on Thursday evening, corresponding to April 20.

The moon sighting will be in the presence of many Sharia judges, muftis, and astronomers near the King Hussein Mosque in King Hussein Mosque, according to the general fatwa.

Thus, Eid al-Fitr will be either on Friday or next Saturday, according to the sighting.
