The Royal Film Commission (RFC) announced that the feature film "Inshallah Walad", which directly translates to "God Willing, a Boy," was selected to compete in the Critics' Week (La Semaine de la Critique), during the 76th edition of the Cannes Film Festival in May.

In a statement, the commission said that this is the first time that a Jordanian film will compete in this international festival.

The film, which was directed by Amjad Al-Rasheed, received full facilitation services from RFC, in addition to a production and post-production grant from the Jordan Film Fund (JFF).

MAD Distribution wrote the following as the synopsis: "After the death of her husband, Nawal has to save her daughter and home in a society where having a son is the difference between privilege and discrimination."
