Madaba sees unprecedented increase in tourist numbers
Madaba Tourism Director Wael Janini said Friday that Madaba saw an 'unprecedented' increase in the number of tourists in March 2023.
According to Janini, a total of 84,703 tourists of various nationalities visited Madaba in March 2023.
In a statement to Roya, Janini said that the number of visitors to Madaba this year is expected to exceed one million tourists from all over the world.
Earlier, the Tourism Ministry announced that there has been an 'unprecedented' increase in the number of people who visited Jordan in the first three months of 2023.

A total of 1,476,599 visitors arrived in the Kingdom in the first quarter of the current year, which is a 90.7 percent increase compared to the 774,111 people who visited Jordan during the same period in 2022.
There has been an 80.9 percent increase in the number of overnight tourists during the three-month period. The figure in 2023 stood at 1,204,458, while the figure in 2022 stood at 665,779. Also, there has been an increase in the number of European tourists by 163.9 percent, bringing their number to 198,766.
As for tourists from Asia and the Pacific, a total of 79,232 entered the Kingdom recording a 286.4 percent increase.
American tourists increased by 159.9 percent, bringing their number to 58,880 visitors.
Tourists from Arab countries increased by 61.7 percent, bringing their number to 508,853 tourists.
African tourists increased by 128.4 percent, bringing their number to 8,162 tourists.
As for Jordanians residing abroad, a total of 350,564 came to the Kingdom recording a 53.1 percent increase.
