Sunday, Amman’s governor Yasser Al-Idwan confirmed that a person was arrested earlier this month for smoking shisha in a cafe in Amman while being infected with COVID-19.

Al-Idwan said in a statement to Roya, that around 15,000 inspection tours were carried out to facilities during December, indicating that more than 270 establishments violated the required health and safety measures, which included wearing face masks and social distancing.

Saturday, Jordan recorded 40 deaths and 1,920 new coronavirus cases.

Notably, Defense Order No. 25 will come into effect as of Jan. 1, 2021.
