Thursday, eight people were injured in a carpet factory fire in the Muwaqqar District, south of Amman.

A source from the Civil Defense Department (CDD) said the eight people were transferred to Al-Totanji Hospital to receive the necessary medical treatment after inhaling smoke and fumes.

The hospital director Osama Al-Qatarneh told Roya that four of the patients are currently in critical health condition and are on respirators.

The rest are in stable health condition, described as moderate in terms of severity.

Qatarneh noted that no one suffered from burns, as all injuries were related to inhaling smoke and fumes.
