Jaafari wins bronze medal in World Karate Championship

National karate team member Mohamed Al-Jaafari won a bronze medal Sunday in the first round of the World League Championship, which was held in Cairo.

Jaafari defeated the Azeri player Amayev Aikhan with the advantage after a 5-5 tie, competing in the under-84 kg category.

This came after three wins defeating the Garipovic from Croatia (4-0), Madani Kamran from USA (8-0) and Taipei Shan Wei from China (10-0).

The athlete lost a match in the quarter-finals competing against the Italian player Matteo (3-3).

Notably, the World League Championship this year consists of four which will be held in Cairo (Egypt), Rabat (Morocco), Fukuoka (Japan) and Dublin (Ireland).
