Petra evacuated from tourists, citizens due to heavy rainfall

Monday, the Petra Development & Tourism Region Authority decided to evacuate the archaeological site in Petra from tourists and citizens, after rainfall flooded the area.

Roya reporter said that the authority's personnel evacuated tourists and citizens, and prevented anyone from entering the site, due to the high level of rainwater.

He added that the evacuation of the site came in order to preserve the safety of tourists and citizens, following the flooding of water from the surrounding mountains to the archaeological site.
