Israeli Occupation proposes Jordanian prisoners complete their sentences in Amman
The National Committee for Jordanian Prisoners and Missing Persons in the Israeli Occupation Prisons said that an agreement was presented by the prison administration to Jordanian prisoners to transfer them to Jordanian prisons, to complete their sentences.
According to Palestinian media, four prisoners out of 18 Jordanian prisoners agreed to the offer, most of them had high sentences imposed on them and others were sentenced to life imprisonment.
The 18 prisoners include Abdullah Al-Barghouthi, who is serving a sentence of 67 life imprisonments as well as 5,200 years as the longest sentence for a prisoner in history, as he enters his 20th year in prison, on charges of contributing to the killing of more than 60 settlers.
Raef Al-Barghouthi, Abdullah Al-Barghouti's brother, told Roya that the family learned from a released prisoner close to his brother that Abdullah agreed to the offer to deport him to Jordan to complete his sentence.
He added that the offer had previously been made by the Israeli Occupation prison administration to the Jordanian prisoners in 2020, but it was rejected, explaining that there is a fear among Jordanian prisoners regarding the offer made by Tel Aviv, because they do not know the intent behind it.
