1 year ago|The American Embassy in Jordan issued a statement Friday cautioning US citizens against traveling to South Jordan.
“Due to reports of increased incidents of violence overnight related to the ongoing protests throughout Jordan, U.S. government personnel have been restricted from overland travel between cities and towns during hours of darkness,” read an alert posted on the Embassy's official website.
“These limitations are in addition to those put in place yesterday for both personal and official travel to the governorates of Karak, Tafilah, Ma’an, and Aqaba.”
The embassy called on its citizens to avoid large crowds and protests, seek alternate routes around road closings, and contact the police by dialing 911 if in danger.
