Park officials said that a one-year-old baby elephant fell into a manhole and his mother was guarding it without leaving its side, reported Reuters.
The mother elephant was too frantic and the vets had to use a tranquilizer to subdue her, which resulted in her partially falling into the hole and hitting her head. The calf managed to suckle from its mother when she fell into the hole.
Later, the calf climbed out of the hole and clung to its mother until she regained consciousness, and both were able to return back to the wild.
