Jordan hosts annual Warrior Competition for special forces
Special operations forces from 25 countries, including Singapore and Iraq, take part in the 12th edition of the Warrior Competition at the King Abdullah II Special Operations Training Center (KASOTC) on the outskirts of the capital Amman.
The annual competition, which lasts for seven days, brings together military teams from around the world to test their ability to execute the most challenging tasks they may face on duty.
Lieutenant-Colonel Nasser Arabiyat, Operations manager of the Warrior competition said in an interview, "We sent out invitations to 184 countries and had to close registration ahead of the deadline once we reached the maximum capacity, which is 40 teams from 25 countries. We're honored that four countries are participating (in the Warrior Competition) for the first time, including Latin American countries and Singapore. A variety of elide Special operations forces, counter-terrorism units and Special police from around the world are taking part (in the competition)."
