Man sentenced to 12 years imprisonment for sexually assaulting child in Amman
Sunday, the Grand Criminal Court in Amman issued a ruling sentencing a 39-year-old man to 12 years imprisonment for sexually assaulting a nine-year-old child while he was playing outside the house. The boy suffers from autism.
The ruling was announced during a public session held under the chairmanship of Judge Ali Obeidat and the membership of judges Malik Al-Hammouri and Osama Suleiman, and in the presence of the Public Prosecutor of the Grand Criminal Court.
The court criminalized the 39-year-old accused of indecent assault, in violation of the provisions of Article 299 of the Jordanian Penal Code.
The incident occurred in October 2021. The victim was playing outside his grandparents’ house when the accused saw him. He then took the nine-year-old to an empty area close to the place and sexually assaulted him there.
