The Iranian News Agency, Tasnim, reported that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) unveiled Wednesday a long-range ballistic missile dubbed “Kheibar Shekan.”

The news agency claimed that the missile can hit targets up to 1,450 kilometers, propelled by solid fuel and can penetrate air defense.

The chief of staff General Major of the Iranian armed forces Mohammed Bagheri said that the Islamic Republic is determined to continue missile capability and quantities.

This comes a day after resuming the indirect talks in Vienna between Tehran and global powers aiming to salvage the 2015 nuclear deal.

Delegates in Vienna confirmed “limited progress” since the resumption of the talks in November, amidst criticism from major Iranian security official Ali Shamkhani of the U.S’ approach.

Shamkhani wrote on Twitter, “Voices from the US government show that there is no coherence in the country to make political decisions in the direction of advancement in the Vienna Talks. The US administration can not pay for its internal disputes by violating Iran's legal rights.”
