Dozens of houses were evacuated in various regions of the Kingdom in the past few days, due to the cracks and weak construction, according to the Jordanian Construction Contractors Association’s (JCCA).

Ahmed Al-Yaqoub, president of the JCCA, told Roya Thursday, that there are reckless contractors who disregard the lives of citizens and do not commit to construction regulations, which puts citizens at risk and causes the loss of their lives, especially in the winter season.

He stressed the importance of conducting random check ups on buildings, especially the old ones, to verify their safety, in coordination with the Royal Scientific Society.

Yaqoub explained that three people were injured on Tuesday when ceilings inside a multi-storey building, which was under construction, collapsed in Jabal Amman area.
