Ghassan Al-Mashini dies at 69
The Jordanian artist, Ghassan Al-Mashini, died Saturday of a heart attack, at the age of 69.
The late artist Ghassan Ishaq Odeh Al-Mashini was born in 1952 to a Jordanian artistic family. His father was radio broadcaster, Ishaq Al-Mashini, and his two brothers are the artist Nabil Al-Mashini and the artist Osama Al-Mashini.
He received a BA in Theater from Cairo in 1980, and is a member of the Jordanian Artists Association.
Some of his most notable works included A Hard Life; the Abu Awad series; and Al-Manahil, among several others. He also directed several plays and other works.
The late artist's last work was his satirical weekly political program, Qahwet Alhoreyya on Roya TV.
Qahwet Alhoreyya is a satirical, political and social program in the form of sketches that reflect a political and social issue or event. These sketches are represented by the café owner, the waiter, and some customers who visit the café, which reflect a sarcastic social or political goal within a comic atmosphere.
