Dead woman found unidentifiable after pet cats eat her face off in Kuwait

Kuwaiti media reported Friday that a woman was found dead in her apartment in Kuwait and her face was unidentifiable after her pet cats chewed off pieces of her face because they could not find any food to eat for days.

The woman used to live alone with her pet cats.

A relative had called the police after the woman had stopped responding to his calls and messages for days, according to al-Rai newspaper.

The police discovered upon their arrival that the woman had died some days earlier.

Following the death of the woman, her cats were left without food for days and resorted to chewing on her face to keep themselves from starving.

“Detectives and forensic teams went to the site, and upon their arrival and examination, they discovered that cats were living with her in the apartment. [The cats] deliberately disfigured her face after they did not find anything else to feed on, which led to the exposing of her bones,” al-Rai newspaper cited a security source as saying.

Her body was transferred to the forensic medicine department to determine the cause of death.

Investigations into the incident have been launched.
