FabLab first training kicks off as part of Orange and Luminus ShamalStart
Orange Jordan recently announced in partnership with Luminus ShamalStart, commencing the training of the first cohort of Orange FabLab from August 1st at Orange Digital Village that houses Orange’s vital program to support youth through entrepreneurship, education, and training in digital fields.
The fully equipped lab aims at offering free training on the most demanded digital skills in the labor market, especially the latest machines, tools, and programs, such as technology-aided design and cutting, 3D printing, computer-aided design, robotics, designing, and manufacturing electronic panels and coding.
Orange Jordan affirmed its pride in launching the FabLab’s first training at Orange Digital Village, as it will contribute noticeably in increasing the beneficiaries of the free digital training offered by Orange for youth, to enhance their employability and enable them to start their projects within its corporate social responsibility as a responsible digital leader.
Orange FabLab is part of the Solidarity FabLab network supported by Orange Foundation, the Group's arm for philanthropy and social responsibility, which includes 131 labs in 21 countries, whereas this lab is one of the projects under the partnership between Orange Global and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
This partnership is by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) to enhance youth employability, support entrepreneurship and digital innovation in 14 countries in the MENA region, including Jordan.
It’s worth mentioning that Orange Jordan collaborated with Luminus ShamalStart to enhance digital education by launching the first of its kind Mobile FabLab in Jordan last year, which graduated the first cohort in Mafraq and continues its training in Jerash and to tour the rest of the kingdom’s governorates.
