Wednesday, the Director of the National Center for Forensic Medicine, Hassan al-Hawari, announced the results of the two reports issued by the Department of Laboratories and Criminal Evidence, the Ministry of Health, and Forensic Medicine, in relation to the death of a man and a woman in the Gardens Hospital Sunday.

Hawari told Roya that the results of the forensic medicine’s report showed that both deaths were caused by blood clots due to "staying in bed for a long period of time."

He explained that the man, 75, died after suffering from pulmonary embolism as a result of staying in bed for a long time, as he was receiving treatment in the hospital following a car accident. Hawari pointed out that he died before the power outage.

As for the 57-year-old woman, Hawari indicated that she was suffering from multiple problems and it was found that she suffered from blood clots (thrombosis), pulmonary fibrosis and pneumonia, in addition to being infected with the coronavirus. He said that the pneumonia led to her infection with fibrosis, and then she developed multiple clots in the lungs as a result of staying in bed for a long time.
