Saturday, the death toll from disastrous flooding in western Europe reached 153 as rescue workers toiled to clear up the devastation and prevent further damage.
"According to current information, 90 people died in the disaster" in Rhineland-Palatinate, one of the worst-affected regions, police in Koblenz said.
Additionally, 43 people died in Rhenania, North Westphalia, another German region hit by storms.
The Belgian broadcaster RTBF reported that the death toll in Belgium rose to 27 Saturday.
