Crown Prince congratulates Shelbayh on Wimbledon win
HRH Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Crown Prince, Sunday congratulated tennis player Abdullah Shelbayh, after winning the doubles competition with his Spanish partner Daniel Rincon at the Wimbledon Tennis Championship for the youth category, which is one of the four grand slams in the sport of tennis.
His Highness praised the great performance and outstanding results recorded by Shelbayh in one of the most important tournaments in the world in tennis for the youth category.
Shelbayh expressed his happiness at the phone call he received from His Highness Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Crown Prince, immediately after his participation in the Wimbledon Championships, stressing that His Highness's interest in his achievement will have a great impact on achieving more. He also thanked the Jordanian people for their support during his participation in the tournament.
17-year-old Abdullah Shelbayh managed to achieve four consecutive victories at Wimbledon to reach the final with his Spanish partner Rincon, which ended in favor of Lithuanian duo Edas Botfilas and Spain's Alejandro Manzanera.
