His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al-Hussein visited Saraya Aqaba Thursday, one of the largest tourism projects in the city, according to statements made by the Royal Hashemite Court (RHC) on Twitter.

The Saraya Aqaba project is one of the largest tourism investments in the city, with a value of JD 1.5 billion.

His Highness toured the project, which provides 600 job opportunities, 60 percent of which come from the local community, and includes residential, recreational and commercial facilities, on an area of 634,000 square meters.

His Highness pointed to the importance of establishing investment projects that would advance development and bolster the economy, praising the role of the Saraya Aqaba project in employing hundreds of the region's sons and daughters.

His Highness listened to an explanation from the CEO of Eagle Hills - Jordan for Investment and Real Estate Development, Abdullah Freihat, about the plan of the Saraya project, which aims to expand the establishment of tourist and entertainment facilities.

According to Freihat, Saraya Aqaba will open a water park, the first of its kind in Aqaba and the largest in the Kingdom in July.

Freihat said it will provide 123 job opportunities.

He pointed out that out of social responsibility, Eagle Hills - Jordan provided 100 university scholarships to the local community, and worked to employ many of them.

His Highness was accompanied by the Prime Minister and Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA).
