Tuesday, approximately 46,000 people received the coronavirus vaccine in Aqaba, since the start of the COVID-19 vaccination campaign launched by the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA), two months ago.

The Aqaba Health Affairs Director Saeb Abu Aboud said this is 52 percent of the population in the governorate.

Abu Aboud said Aqaba recorded the lowest daily positive PCR test rate since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic. He called on citizens and residents of Aqaba to register for vaccination and abide by health and safety measures.

Abu Aboud said that the Ministry of Health, ASEZA and other relevant authorities are aiming to vaccinate approximately 80,000 citizens across 13 vaccination sites in Aqaba.
