Wednesday, the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) forced the twin siblings Mohammed and Muna al-Kurd, two residents and prominent activists of Sheikh Jarrah out of the neighbourhood in occupied East Jerusalem.

Videos emerged on social media showing Mohammed being dragged by IOF soldiers down a street by his shirt.

Recently, Sheikh Jarrah witnessed a series of protests by Palestinians against the Israeli Occupation forcibly removing them from their homes, placing settlers in their place, in what they described as a continuation of "ethnic cleansing."

The Kurd family is among a handful of Palestinian families that face a forced uprooting from their Sheikh Jarrah home, located in rightful Palestinian territory.

The duo have been prominent voices in recent days as the IOF increased their violence and aggression against Palestinians.

Mohammed has appeared on many US news channels such as CNN, MSNBC and Democracy Now to discuss the recent violence in Sheikh Jarrah by the IOF and settlers.

On MSNBC, Mohammed said "We have been dealing with a wave of state-sanctioned violence... Sheikh Jarrah in the past few weeks has been a scene of terror every single night we are met with tear gas, military horses, stun grenades, rubber coated bullets... the Israeli Occupation Forces are not stingy in the level of forced abuse against unarmed civilians."

The Kurd family have had their homes stolen by settlers multiple times, including in 2009.
